I began attending Toronto Art in the late spring of Grade 10 in hopes of developing a portfolio for my university applications. Prior to this, I had limited portfolio-worthy pieces and was not very confident in my artistic abilities. Toronto Art is a very friendly and welcoming environment. This studio helped me strengthen my skills in observational drawing, painting, graphic design and concept development, which allowed me to express myself skillfully through various art mediums. Jun and Janet are not only super supportive and kind, but they are also exceptional at what they do. They genuinely want to help you flourish and do your best. In addition, the instructors here at Toronto Art are also incredibly kind and talented; they are huge contributors to Toronto Art’s supportive environment. Many students, myself included, see them as mentors and role models. I was accepted to all undergraduate programs I applied to. I am now off to my top choice of university on merit scholarship. As I enter my freshman year, I feel prepared and more confident in my artistic abilities thanks to them. Toronto Art doesn't just help you create a really strong portfolio; they help foster your growth. I am truly happy I got to learn from them 🙂 I highly recommend this studio!Posted on Google

I attended Toronto Art for about three years, and under the guidance of the director Jun and the incredibly skilled teachers, I prepared a portfolio that has gotten me into Rhode Island School of Design. This studio’s approach to portfolio is incredibly unique, offering many small specialized classes in different areas, allowing the teacher to grant considerable one-on-one time with each student. Through classes such as Animation , Fashion, and Architecture, I was able to create a diverse portfolio in constant dialogue with my teachers. Furthermore, attending live figure drawing sessions with Jun has helped me establish invaluable fundamental skills in anatomy and gesture drawing. Jun provides many outside anatomy resources, live demos, and provides feedback during the sessions. Moreover, the studio not only teaches art fundamentals but also is quite involved in the portfolio-making process; from ideation to designing the final layout. They ensure that your work is presented in a cohesive, attractive manner. The teachers are also very dedicated to their students and ensuring that you are actively learning technical skills and improving yourself as an artist. They will be with you every step of the way. I would highly recommend this studio!Posted on Google

I developed my architecture portfolio at Toronto Art and I got accepted into Uwaterlool!! Under the guidance of Jun and all the amazing tutors I was able to improve my skills as an artists a lot over a course of just a few months. Toronto Art provides with great support and you don’t feel as stressed and can just focus on your art. I also took their life drawing classes which was a great learning experience. I got into every school I applied to with generous scholarships! (RISD, Parsons, MICA, Ringing, OCAD, Sheridan) I went here for a little more than a year and learned a lot. Jun gives personalized feedback and is very good at teaching life drawing (highly recommend taking). Janet is super supportive and will guide you towards all the portfolio details. They teach art techniques while also encouraging creativity. Jun and Janet both have lots of experience. The studio also has a ton of art books and supplies you can use to explore and take inspiration from. Other instructors at the studio are very helpful as well. I found many friends there who are passionate about art. Would definitely recommend.Posted on Google

I attended this studio for about 5 years, where I eventually made my portfolio that got me into Parsons + 4 more international art colleges. The instructors, who are incredibly talented, provided lots of guidance with art project which compounded my skills and additions to my portfolio. The live figure drawing sessions with Jun have been such a crucial learning experience- he provides great insight and a lot of outside resources and references. This applies to not only in the figure drawing classes, but also in the other studio classes. Moreover, the studio's resources (eg. books and artistic mediums) are also impressive and high quality. I also found that this studio is more than just a studio for portfolio-making, but also a place to become friends with all the other artists.Posted on Google
